Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Housekeeping Supervisor
Supervises housekeeping staff as duties are being performed.
Supervises the duties and tasks of laundry staff.
Stocks and maintains supply rooms; orders supplies according to a budget.
Receives, processes, and handles guest complaints in regard to housekeeping services.
Ensures that rooms are kept clean and free from hazards.
Ensures that all common areas are kept clean and free from hazards.
Organizes all staff during the day and hosts daily meetings with housekeeping staff.
Assists guests or patients with questions and basic requests.
Provides a high level of customer service at all times; remains professional.
Hires and fires housekeeping staff; trains new housekeepers after hire.
Meets with company officials regularly in order to provide progress reports and address issues.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Understands the principles behind providing excellent customer service to guests or patients.
Possesses the ability to manage a team of housekeepers effectively.
Demonstrates organizational skills required for ensuring that tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Shows basic budgeting skills and the ability to keep cleaning supplies and equipment stocked according to a budget.
Exhibits the ability to teach others how to do their jobs in a friendly, courteous and effective manner.
Is able to perform several tasks at the same time.
Shows basic computer knowledge for the purposes of scheduling, recordkeeping
