Safely operate heavy trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, or tanker trucks, to transport goods and materials to customer locations.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition and report any defects or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
Secure cargo properly using straps, chains, and other securing devices to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
Follow designated routes and schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, including hours-of-service regulations.
Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and hours of service using electronic logging devices (ELDs) or paper logs as required by law.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues or concerns.
Monitor traffic and weather conditions and adjust driving techniques as necessary to ensure safe and timely delivery of cargo.
Follow company policies and procedures regarding vehicle maintenance, safety, and performance.
Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing the transportation industry, including those related to vehicle weight limits, hazardous materials, and transportation of dangerous goods.
Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and trailer, including interior and exterior cleanliness and proper storage of equipment and paperwork.
Requirements:
Valid Class 1 or Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 2 years of experience driving heavy trucks, preferably in long-haul or commercial transportation.
Knowledge of safe driving practices, traffic laws, and regulations governing the transportation industry.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers, dispatchers, and other team members.
Ability to operate electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other onboard technology used for tracking and recording driver activity
