Key Responsibilities
Greeting Guests:
Welcome guests as they enter the restaurant.
Confirm reservations and manage waitlists efficiently.
Providing Information:
Offer detailed information about the menu, daily specials, and promotions.
Answer any questions regarding food ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary restrictions.
Seating Arrangements:
Assign tables to guests based on their preferences and availability.
Ensure that seating is organized to maximize efficiency while maintaining guest comfort.
Taking Orders:
Assist servers by taking initial drink orders or providing menus to guests.
Relay special requests or modifications to the kitchen staff accurately.
Handling Payments:
Process payments using point-of-sale systems.
Provide accurate change and receipts to customers.
Addressing Concerns:
Listen to guest complaints or concerns and resolve them promptly.
Escalate issues to management when necessary for further assistance.
Maintaining Cleanliness:
Ensure that the dining area is clean, organized, and well-presented at all times.
Assist with clearing tables and resetting them for new guests.
Collaborating with Staff:
Work closely with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Participate in team meetings to discuss service improvements and guest feedback.
Promoting Specials:
Actively promote daily specials or upcoming events to enhance guest engagement.
Upsell additional items such as desserts or beverages when appropriate.
Training New Staff:
Assist in training new associates on customer service protocols and restaurant procedures.
Share knowledge about menu items and service standards with new team members.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; further education in hospitality or related fields is preferred.
