They load and unload cargo and baggage, ensuring timely departures and arrivals, and provide assistance to passengers with various needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Passenger Assistance:
Help passengers with check-in, boarding, and disembarkation, providing information and addressing inquiries.
Baggage Handling:
Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail onto and off aircraft, ensuring proper sorting and delivery.
Aircraft Preparation:
Prepare aircraft for flight by cleaning interiors, servicing lavatories and water systems, and ensuring the aircraft is ready for the next flight.
Ground Support Equipment:
Operate and maintain ground support equipment, such as baggage carts, tow trucks, and pushback vehicles.
Safety and Security:
Maintain a safe and secure environment on the ramp, adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
Communication:
Coordinate with flight crews, air traffic control, and other airport personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Emergency Response:
Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance to passengers and staff.
Examples of tasks:
Issuing boarding passes and providing travel information.
Redirecting or rebooking passengers.
Delivering baggage to the claim area.
Inspecting ramp areas for debris.
Assisting passengers with special needs or disabilities.
Ensuring airline procedures are followed.
