Food Safety Officer's responsibilities:

Inspections:

Conduct regular inspections of food establishments, including restaurants, food processing plants, and retail stores, to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

Evaluate food production processes, storage conditions, and handling practices to identify potential hazards.

Take samples of food products for laboratory analysis to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.

Audits and Assessments:

Conduct food safety audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of food safety programs and identify areas for improvement.

Review and assess food safety management systems (., HACCP) to ensure they are properly implemented and maintained.

Enforcement and Compliance:

Enforce food safety regulations and standards, issuing warnings or taking enforcement actions when necessary.

Investigate foodborne illness outbreaks and other food safety incidents.

Coordinate with food business operators to ensure compliance with food safety requirements.

Training and Education:

Provide training to food handlers and other staff on food safety practices and regulations.

Educate the public on food safety issues and promote safe food handling practices.

Coordination and Communication:

Collaborate with other regulatory agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective food safety management.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, and enforcement actions.

Prepare reports and recommendations to improve food safety practices.
