Safety
Ensuring the safety of passengers by explaining how to use safety equipment, such as seatbelts, life vests, and oxygen masks. They also respond to emergencies, such as turbulence, medical issues, or evacuations.
Comfort
Making sure passengers are comfortable and responding to their requests. They also help passengers find their seats.
Service
Serving food, drinks, and duty-free items. They also answer questions about products and meet dietary requirements.
Information
Sharing important information with passengers, such as ETAs or seatbelt announcements.
Cleanliness
Keeping the cabin clean and organized. This includes vacuuming, emptying seat pockets, sanitizing meal trays, and folding and stowing blankets and pillows.
Security
Ensuring security by checking cargo areas before take-off and following in-flight COVID protocols.
First aid
Administering basic first aid when necessary.
Coordination
Coordinating with the flight crew and carrying out instructions from pilots or co-pilots.
Cabin crew undergo training programs that focus on passenger safety, security, first aid, and service. They also need to be able to work in an enclosed environment for long periods of time, work irregular hours, and be on standby.
