Job Description
Conducting market research to identify new trends, fabrics and techniques.
Forecast and plan budgets and remain up to date with industry’s best practices
Source materials and negotiate with suppliers and manufacturers to secure favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards for all apparel items.
Collaborate with designers and buyers to curate a collection of clothing items that align with the brand's identity and market trends.
Production planning and product Development samples as per designer's requirement.
Monitoring and managing expenses throughout the production process.
Collaborating with production team to ensure development packages are accurate.
Daily coordination and correspondence with the designer, supplier & buyer.
Assuring timely delivery of shipment & assuring quality as per the requirement.
Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs etc. Monitoring and managing inventory levels to ensure availability of materials and finished products. Forecasting demand and coordinating with production and procurement teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
Should have good knowledge about testing parameter and quality checking.
Requirements and skills
Proven working min. 2yrs experience in merchandising
Up-to-date with the latest merchandising trends and good negotiation skills.
Should have good knowledge of MS office.
Good Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Fluent in English
Multilingual proficiency would be preferred (depending on the market reach)
Good time management & organizational skills
Strong listening, presentation and decision making skills
Familiarity with pricing strategies and cost analysis in the textile industry.
Bachelor degree in fashion merchandising or any fashion relevant field ( but should have min 2 yrs. experience of fashion merchandising)
