The duties and responsibilities of the Farm Supervisor is responsible for keeping workers on task and ensuring the vegetables are properly grown, harvested, and distributed.

Assist with farming and harvesting operations

Recruit, train and supervise farm workers – coordinate and direct their activities

Ensures deadlines are met for activities such as seeding and harvesting

Monitoring staff rosters, hours, performance and resolving any grievances

Inspect farm buildings and equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and repairs are made when necessary

Assist in land preparation, irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease management

Coordinating daily production to achieve the most efficient cost of production while meeting the maximum quality goals

Data reporting and pest and disease control

Job Requirements:

Multi-task oriented and motivational skills

Knowledge of excel / basic computer knowledge is essential

Knowledge of agricultural cropping systems, pest and disease control, production practices and crop maintenance

Knowledge of production equipment

Ability to manage, coordinate and communicate daily with workers

Farming/Agricultural background would be a plus
