Job Description

Key Responsibility Area:

• To provide technical supervision to the Design Office team ensuring that all project tasks are completed on time, to budget and in accordance with the required specification.

• To co-ordinate all activities relating to the mechanical & EC&I design requirements for bids and proposals and projects include identification, acquisition and logging of technical data, production and maintenance of engineering drawings and parts lists, design schedules,

• To analyses the engineering and design requirements for bids and proposals and projects and communicate those requirements to the design engineers to produce the engineering layouts and designs.

• To participate as required in all aspects of the activities of the Design Office, including the production of engineering reports, design calculations, technical.

• To ensure that all company standards, processes and procedures are adhered to within the Design Office and to assist in the improving the processes and procedures.

• To provide effective co-operation and communication with other departments within the company, such that problems are resolved promptly and efficiently, and that critical and constructive comments are given equa..

• To plan for future resource requirements and undertake authorized recruitment with the engineering Head (in conjunction with HR)..

Eligibility Criteria:

• 5 years’ experience in a similar position of appropriate responsibility. Preferably from power industry with knowledge of mills

• Have strong analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving

• Have a sound knowledge of computer assisted design software particularly Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor

• Have an excellent grasp of engineering concepts and principles

• Have a good understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods

• Have a good appreciation of the wider business and environmental impact of design decisions.
