Job Description of Engineering Head in Furniture Industry
Key Responsibilities:
Product Design and Development:
o Lead the design process for new furniture products from concept to
completion.
o Ensure designs are aligned with market trends, customer preferences, and
brand identity.
o Oversee prototype development and testing to validate design concepts.
Technical Leadership:
o Provide technical guidance and expertise to the engineering team.
o Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing
processes.
o Resolve technical challenges and optimize product designs for cost-
effectiveness and manufacturability.
Team Management:
o Recruit, train, and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
o Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
o Set clear goals and objectives, and evaluate team performance regularly.
Quality Assurance:
o Establish quality standards and procedures for furniture manufacturing.
o Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to ensure compliance with
specifications.
o Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and
reliability.
Collaboration and Communication:
o Collaborate closely with other departments such as Sales, Marketing, and
Production to align product development with business goals.
o Communicate project status, technical information, and recommendations
effectively to stakeholders.
o Manage relationships with external suppliers and vendors to source materials
and components.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field;
advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience (10 to 15 Years) in furniture design and manufacturing, with a
strong portfolio of successful product launches.
Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards
relevant to furniture production.
Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and
delegate effectively.
