Dear Candidate,

As Senior Mechanical Engineer you are responsible to Design and Development of mining equipments, create CAD models/ manufacturing drawings, BOM for sub-systems used in mining equipment’s and to ensure the quality of drawings produced by Design Engineers. The job is about providing engineering support to various PDCs within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions in Current Product Engineering, New product Development Engineering and Order based Engineering activities.

The main responsibilities are as follows:

Collaborate with product and engineering departments to understand company needs and devise possible solutions.

Keep up to date with the latest technology trends.

Communicate results and ideas to key decision makers.

Involved in design & developing underground mining equipment’s.

Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and project design.

Creation of BOM / ECN for release of drawings for production

Perform design calculations for design verification

Develop sub-system designs and make component selections

Perform engineering related activities like supplier interaction, field visits

Provide engineering support to sourcing / production teams

Strong in Fundamental Mechanical Engineering

Strong in Mechanics & Design calculations

Creative thinker & this should lead to applying Patents for the Company

Strong in material selection depending on the application, fix proper heat treatment process, GD&Ts
