Roles and Responsibilities
Merchandising/Planning
• Analyse sales and inventory data to inform and monitor buying decisions.
• Report on sales trends to best identify opportunities to assist in proposing promotional campaigns.
• Review the sales performance on a SKU level and propose actions to drive & maximize sales.
• Identify growth within brands/categories and work with the relevant teams/departments to help drive the productivity and ensure deadlines are met.
• Review the product portfolio and manage the markdown activity site-wide whilst making sure the overall business margin is maintained.
• Identify and review competitor pricing/marketing campaigns in the GCC to better plan in line with the tactical calendar.
• Review the basket spends & customer behavior, communicating these to the wider team to better understand the customer profiles.
• Analyse seasonal brand performance and flag/request markdown contribution/stock returns from suppliers to help drive sales whilst still maintaining a healthy margin.
• Analyse and track the performance of new brands to better plan around sales trends/buys.
• Assist the wider team in ad-hoc reporting.
• Reviewing the pricing architecture and brand positioning.
• Building and communicating trade insight reports based on WOW, MOM, YOY data.
• Identify opportunities, reviewing availability and flagging missed opportunities within brands,
categories and price levels and flag these to the relevant departments.
Trade/Report
• Prepare a weekly trade presentation reviewing & performance, sales trends,
promotional campaigns & tracking sales in line with the business targets for each department.
• Assist in the ad-hoc reporting for each B&M team.
• Communicate the performance on promotional campaigns to the wider teams, ensuring key lessons
learnt are recorded and readily available for future tactical planning.
