Job Responsibilities for Mechanical Designer
• Should have excellent working experience on Solidworks.
• Prepare calculations on the proposed machine before completing technical drawings
• Creates CAD models, including part and assembly drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs) to
support manufacturing, testing, and assembly, and support components to assist with assembly.
• Should be excellent working on Weldment, Sheet Metal, Simulation, Part assembly, FEA.
• Sketch and draw up designs using input from engineers and the production team
• Calculate factors like tolerance, dimensions, and thermal and structural analysis
• Create designs in line with company procedure, regulations, and client standards
• Submit drawings to upper management and construction teams
• Use customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve or repair the company's existing machines
• Provide support during the building and installation process, ensuring that the machine is built properly and according to design specifications
• Finalize designs and send prints to the production department
• Inspect raw materials to ensure consistency and integrity
• Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for production.
• Ensure raw material used in the product is as per design requirements.
• Ensure parts going to the vendor for further work meet customer expectations and as per design.
• Write reports to document deficiencies and errors of products
• Inspect products to ensure that they meet quality standards
• Disassemble product parts to inspect them individually
• Monitor production operations to ensure conformance to company specifications
• Ensure that the parts received from the third party vendors like CNC cutting and bending system suppliers to ensure that they are as per the given dimensions and tolerance – then only accept the parts
