Mechanical Designer job role specification

• Designing a functional mechanical model by collaborating with the team regarding the creation of innovative design concepts

• Providing technical support during assembly and installation of equipment

• Creating 3D model using software like Solidedge, NX, Solidwork, Creo.

• Creating detailed dimensional 2D CAD models along with necessary tolerances from the 3D models.

• Produce standard designs using CAD software and create assembly prints, mechanical drawings, and fabrication specifications

• Creating design Bill of Material of the components in the model

• Modify designs to correct operating and production issues.

• Discuss with suppliers, clients, and project heads to review designs and alter as needed.

Education and experience requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

• Minimum of two years of experience in 3D design modelling and 2D CAD drafting.

• Strong computer skills with proficiency in 3D modelling software like Solidedge/ NX/ Solidwork/ Creo

• Knowledge on the structural analysis software like Ansys.

• Effective documentation, presentation, and composition skills

• Certification in any of the above-mentioned 3D modelling software

• Experience with sheet metal designing will be an added advantage.
