Roles and responsibilities
The management and control of all defects within the in-house development environments
Will be the point of contact for all Defect status related queries across all environments
Definition, ownership and management of the Defect Process
Will support all aspects of the Defect Process and offer guidance to the software development and operational teams as and when required
Liaising with the Problem Management Team to ensure a clear and efficient interaction within overlapping processes, and to promote this with all project deliverables
Ensuring all defects are entered correctly and controlled/managed as effectively as possible through their lifecycle
Identify and implement process & tools improvements for defect prevention and/or to improve defect resolution times
Maintaining absolute integrity of the defect database and ensuring a full audit trail for any changes made to defect status outside of the published defect process.
Represent the Mission and Program position on defect status to both Feature team members, CoEs and the Green Team on a regular basis.
Develop weekly defect status reports and trending reports
Initiate and manage escalation process for any defects exceeding SLAs
Collaborate with QA/Testing and Release/Change Management teams to maintain
awareness of new code changes, new test cycles, ongoing automation test results and new defects, bug fix scheduling and retesting

The ability to chair, own, and steer critical triage meetings to achieve a satisfactory outcome
Good working knowledge of agile and DevOps lifecycle
Demonstrate experience of working in high-pressure environments in previous roles
Ability to manage repeatable standard processes along with an ability to find, own and resolve ad-hoc issues
Ability to forge strong relationships with internal and external customers and vendors, influencing and persuading where appropriate and resolving any conflicts ari
