Building relationships

Sales executives act as a point of contact between customers and the company, and develop relationships with clients. They should be skilled at managing client relationships and communicating well.

Researching

Sales executives research the market and products, and gather customer information to understand their needs. They may also inspect inventory and the quality of products on display.

Presenting

Sales executives demonstrate and present products and services to clients, either virtually or during sales visits. They should be able to respond to customer queries and objections to help them make a purchase.

Negotiating

Sales executives negotiate terms of agreement, pricing, and contracts with customers.

Providing support

Sales executives provide ongoing support to clients and may also advise product developers on improvements to include in future products.

Analyzing

Sales executives analyze sales data to identify opportunities for improvement, and may also provide feedback to cross-functional teams.
