Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management and Analysis:
Oversee and manage the cost accounting function for Tembo projects.
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects.
Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted costs.
Develop and implement cost control measures to improve project profitability.
Monthly Account Closure:
Lead the monthly financial closing process, ensuring all project costs are accurately captured and reported.
Reconcile project accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Ensure all month-end journal entries related to project costs are prepared and posted accurately.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare periodic financial reports for project stakeholders, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial performance and project costs.
Assist in the preparation of project financial statements and related disclosures, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies
Understand and comply with disclosure requirements outlined in Schedule 3 of the Companies Act.
Tax Compliance:
Maintain an understanding of income tax compliance requirements relevant to project accounting.
Ensure accurate and timely filing of income tax returns related to project activities.
Understand and comply with indirect tax compliance obligations, including VAT, GST, or other applicable taxes.
Inter-Company Transactions:
Manage and reconcile inter-company transactions related to project costs
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with transfer pricing policies.
Collaborate with other departments to streamline inter-company processes and resolve discrepancies.
Overall Business Understanding:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of Tembos overall business operations and objectives.
Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
