Responsibilities
Food preparation: Set up a station, chop, slice, and measure ingredients, and prepare basic salads and sauces
Food presentation: Ensure food is presented and served to high standards
Kitchen maintenance: Keep the kitchen clean and tidy, and perform basic cleaning duties
Food safety: Follow food safety and hygiene standards, and report any defects in the kitchen or equipment
Inventory: Monitor stock movement, requisition items, and take inventory
Deliveries: Receive deliveries, verify that all ordered items have been delivered, and store them properly
Communication: Communicate with the chef, supervisor, and other kitchen staff
Teamwork: Assist with plating, garnishing, and expediting dishes during busy periods
Health and safety: Comply with company and legislative procedures, and attend health and safety training events
