Cloud Engineer

Responsible for the build and maintenance of a key regulatory requirement that supports the recovery and resolution planning process. Required to have industry experience on large and complex IT projects with strong technical skills in data engineering using Big Data and Cloud platforms.

The role requires the candidate to

• Implement data transformation models using Python, PySpark, SQL and Azure Databricks

• As part of the delivery management team, support the high-level design, breakdown and prioritization of work items for the technical delivery team

• Drive the technical delivery and set standards for the adoption of Cloud-ready & Cloud-native Big Data solutions within the Group Finance Technology department

• Implement change management controls and establish support model for Cloud data platform

• Collaborate with business change and IT teams in an Agile environment

• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate back-end database and implement advanced requirements for data capture, presentation and persistence using SQL and Python

• Participate in testing process through unit and functional testing

• Support bug fixes, change requests and functional enhancement on the code; provide escalation support in BAU environment

• Interact with Design team and Test team for requirements and defects

• Follow the change and incident management process

Your skills and experience

Will be responsible for build and maintenance of an internal web application supporting a key regulatory requirement. Industry experience on large and complex IT projects with strong technical skills across front-end development frameworks is preferred. Required skills are listed below.

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:

- Python

- Big Data experience (Spark)

- SQL Skills (Ideally Oracle but any dialect considered)

- Hadoop

- Knowledge of agile development processes

- Strong communication skills
