Job Description

We are looking for a children counsellor to employ in Childline 1098 (24/7 emergency and community program to assist children in need of protection).

Male candidates only.

Start date: immediate

Location: Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, India

Full-time (shifts, 24/7)

Salary: rupees/month

Responsibilities and Duties

- Giving counselling to children in emergency situations;

- Collaborating and coordinating with local government, local committees, local partners and volunteers in Tiruvannamalai district;

- Collaborating and coordinating with other team members and program coordinator;

- Manual reports and official documentation;

- Awareness program activities in communities and schools.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor/Diploma (Social Works, Counselling, Psychology);

- Preferable experience in counselling: at least 6 months;

- Preferable experience in working with children and children's rights;

- Ability to handle emergencies and conflicts;

- Mother-tongue knowledge of Tamil;

- Preferable good knowledge of English;

- Keen interest in working with children.
