CCTV Technician Job Description
A CCTV (closed-circuit television) Technician is responsible for monitoring, diagnosing, installing, configuring, and maintaining CCTV camera systems and their associated components. They must have excellent technical skills, knowledge of various software, and a keen eye for detail when it comes to wiring and cabling connections.
Key Responsibilities of a CCTV Technician
A CCTV Technicians day-to-day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Monitoring:
Monitoring a companys surveillance guards and ensuring that the system is functioning properly and responding to alarms.
Diagnosing:
Discovering the cause of technical faults and resolving them in a timely manner.
Installation:
Setting up new equipment, installing CCTV systems and connecting cabling.
Configuration:
Configuring CCTV systems so they are compatible with the necessary software and connected to the correct wiring.
Maintenance:
Repairing faulty equipment, upgrading software and monitoring performance.
