Job Description:

As a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for designing and decorating custom cakes according to customer specifications. Your artistic abilities, attention to detail, and knowledge of various cake decorating techniques will play a crucial role in creating visually stunning and delicious cakes.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with customers to understand their design preferences, themes, and requirements for custom cakes.

Design and decorate cakes using various techniques such as piping, fondant work, gum paste, and sugarcraft.

Mix and color icing to achieve desired shades and textures.

Sculpt figures and shapes from sugar or marzipan.

Apply intricate designs, patterns, and decorations to cakes, ensuring a high level of precision and attention to detail.

Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in cake decorating, continuously improving and expanding your skills.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the decorating area, following proper food safety standards.

Ensure cakes are properly baked, leveled, and cooled before beginning the decoration process.

Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and fulfill customer orders in a timely manner.

Assist in other bakery duties as needed.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Cake Decorator, preferably with a focus on custom cakes.

Strong artistic and creative skills with an eye for detail.

Proficiency in various cake decorating techniques such as piping, fondant work, gum paste, and sugarcraft.

Knowledge of different types of icing, food coloring, and edible decorations.

Ability to sculpt figures and shapes from sugar or marzipan.

Familiarity with different cake types, flavors, and baking techniques.

Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
