Roles and responsibilities
As a business development manager, you’ll need to:
• Research and identify new business opportunities and new ways of reaching existing markets
• Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
• understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan
• Have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise to customer
• Train members of your team, arranging external training where appropriate
• Discuss promotional strategy and activities with our department
Quality for business development manager
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management
• Basic understanding of marketing and marketing theories is preferred
• Experience working with non-profit or other businesses that rely heavily on donations and fund raising
• Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple company initiatives and encourage coworkers to do the same
Experience/knowledge
• Knowledge of the Insurance industry (desirable)
• Business development and marketing skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Written and oral communication
• Negotiation skills
• A driven sales approach that ensures targets are met
• Demonstrated commercial acumen and strong understanding of business requirements
• Excellent analytical skills
• Computer literate ie Microsoft Office & Microsoft Excel
