This role is responsible for directing sales efforts to expand our client's customer base. This role will be responsible for generating new business and ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded across all lines of business. This individual should be motivated customer sales personnel with experience and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Responsibilities:
Grow revenue and relationships with existing customer base.
Generate leads through cold calling, networking and referrals.
Utilize inside sales knowledge.
Quote formal and spot bids.
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction- maintain close contact with all customers including follow up on concerns or other issues.
Communicate effectively with customers, shippers, and receivers regarding changes in pick-up/delivery and potential service failures.
Communicate customer problems to management.
Exceed all standards for prospecting calls, presentations, proposals and closes.
Provide documented activity reports of your sales efforts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Execute and monitor strategic and tactical goals to maximize sales, profit and to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.
Track/trace shipments when requested.
Support carrier reps with the coordination of transportation freight in a cost-effective manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business, logistics, or related field
3-5 years sales experience with a proven track record of success
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and high level of integrity
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
