JOB Description – AS/400-RPG Developer

This role is primarily a developer position, over 90% of the time will be spent developing business application software using RPG/400, ILE RPG, SQL, and CLLE in AS/400. This role requires the candidate to be a very competent analyst programmer who is comfortable working across the full development lifecycle.

The Developer will develop and test solutions for business problems entailing developing new application features or modifying/enhancing existing features to meet clients’ business needs. The Developer will work with senior lead developers to develop and implement defined solutions, develop technical specifications and implement technical specifications developed by others.

REQUIREMENTS:

Job Related Experience: 5+ years programming/systems analysis

Skills and Abilities:

• Programming languages and utilities: RPG/400, SDA, RLU, RPG ILE, CL, SQL, Query/400, DBU, HAWKEYE, TURNOVER, ALDON

• Experience with IBM AS/400 or IBM iSeries platform

• Excellent documentation skills of the design, coding, and maintenance

• Excellent understanding of how critical project completion is to client satisfaction

• Excellent communication skills to interact with external, as well as internal clients for the purpose of data gathering and design initiation. This includes both verbal and written communication skills

• Must be able to communicate effectively with Business Analysts, End users, peer developers and other IT staff.

• Willingness to adhere to in-house programming and modification standards.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Understanding of full development lifecycle (FDLC)

• Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.

• Proficient with Microsoft® Office and Windows.
