Job Description

Ground staff play a crucial role in the aviation industry, ensuring that airport operations run smoothly and efficiently. They are responsible for various tasks that directly impact passenger experience and flight efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Passenger Check-in and Boarding:

Greet and welcome passengers.

Check passengers in for their flights, verifying travel documents and issuing boarding passes.

Assist with baggage check-in and direct passengers to security checkpoints.

Manage boarding procedures at the gate, including announcing flight information and coordinating boarding priorities.

Baggage Handling:

Handle passenger baggage from check-in to baggage claim.

Weigh bags, attach baggage tags, load bags onto the aircraft, and unload them after flights.

Manage lost and found baggage.

Customer Service and Information:

Provide information to passengers regarding flight schedules, baggage policies, and airport facilities.

Assist passengers with special needs, including elderly passengers, families with children, or those with disabilities.

Address passenger complaints and resolve issues promptly.

Gate Management:

Coordinate with flight crews to manage the boarding process at the gate.

Monitor passenger flow to ensure on-time departures.

Communicate flight status updates to passengers.

Administrative Duties:

Take reservations from passengers who call in or visit the ticket counter.

Assist in stocking aircraft with refreshments and cleaning them after flights.

Requirements:

Educational qualifications such as a diploma in administration or travel-related fields; relevant experience in customer care is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a good command of the English language are essential.

Ability to work shifts, be well-groomed, computer literate, and capable of multi-tasking effectively.

Ground staff are vital for maintaining safety and comfort for all passengers traveling through airports.
