Responsibilities
Key Result Areas & Outcomes expected from the Role:
Provide a management presence throughout the baggage operation to ensure compliance with baggage handling processes by all parties. To include:-
Security liaison
Customs liaison
Engineering liaison
Traffic flow management in and around baggage halls
Recording and reporting of equipment in use that is defective or inappropriate
Observation of all GHA activity and enforcing compliance
Check-In Operatives
Arbitration in issues around sharing of space in baggage halls
SLA management, study & control of suppliers and users operations
Liaise with BHS Operations and Maintenance team to ensure that the system is being operated within SLA's and Budget.
Work with Operations and Maintenance team to develop and agree a preventative maintenance plan that will ensure sufficient available capacity to match demand, while baggage system components are under maintenance.
Investigation of technical and operational incidents & proactive / reactive measures
Provide escalation and support to duty teams in the event of contingency action
Able and competent in root cause failure analysis leadership and investigations.
Ensure that the measurement and reporting exists to ensure failures in baggage performance are clearly understood, causes evaluated and actions agreed with stakeholders to improve and achieve desired performance.
Continually improving planning processes and scheduling to ensure that baggage operations work to a plan, that the plan is measured, reviewed and optimized.
Design and develop the process that allows coordination with Terminal management for maintenance programs to optimise asset availability.
Ensure KPIs are reviewed at regular baggage user group, make use of league tables to identify best performance and ensure actions followed up by all stakeholders .
