The Hospital Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in the financial health of the hospital, supporting strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, budget reports, and variance analysis to support management decision-making.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and collections.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies, including audits and financial reviews.
Budgeting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the hospitals annual budget, providing insights and recommendations to management.
Cost Analysis: Analyze costs associated with hospital operations and provide reports to help optimize resource allocation and efficiency.
Payroll Processing: Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate payroll processing, including benefits and deductions.
Financial Forecasting: Assist in developing financial forecasts and strategic planning initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
Experience: 1-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.
