Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a strong understanding of income tax returns and GST returns. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and tax preparation, with the ability to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced environment. The Accountant will be responsible for preparing and filing income tax returns and GST returns, as well as providing tax advice to clients.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and file accurate and timely income tax returns and GST returns
Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations
Review financial records such as income statements, balance sheets, and expense reports to determine tax liability
Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations
Advise clients on tax issues and help them develop strategies for minimizing their tax liability
Maintain accurate and complete financial records
Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements
Assist with financial analysis and forecasting
Liaise with clients, tax authorities, and other stakeholders as necessary
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance, preferably in a public accounting firm
Knowledge of income tax laws and regulations
Experience with GST returns
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or MYOB
CPA or CA certification preferred, but not required
