Job Summary:

The Accounts Assistant is responsible for assisting the accounting team in various financial and administrative tasks. They play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations..

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Record Keeping:

Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Accurately enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets.

Organize and file financial documents and records for easy retrieval.

Invoice Processing:

Process invoices received from vendors and suppliers.

Verify the accuracy of invoices, including quantities, prices, and terms.

Prepare and issue payments to vendors within established deadlines.

Accounts Reconciliation:

Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

Prepare periodic reconciliation reports.

Expense Tracking:

Record and track business expenses.

Assist in the preparation of expense reports.

Ensure compliance with the organization's expense policies.

Assist in Month-end and Year-end Close:

Support the accounting team in month-end and year-end closing processes.

Prepare journal entries and adjustments as required.

Assist in financial statement preparation.

Financial Reporting:

Generate financial reports as needed.

Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.

Assist in the analysis of financial data for management reporting.

Compliance and Audit Support:

Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

Provide support during financial audits by organizing documents and responding to auditor inquiries.

Communication and Collaboration:

Collaborate with other departments and team members to gather financial information and resolve financial issues.
